Since I don’t have a self-tape to do this week, I thought I’d take the opportunity to make a little video and share something I’ve been thinking about.
There’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately… and I wanted to talk to you about it: authenticity.
Because today, even what looks natural can be manufactured.
We retouch photos, we use filters, artificial intelligence creates images that are almost perfect…
But we can also wear makeup without looking like we are, carefully choose our lighting, our angle, the way we speak… and make everything seem completely spontaneous.
So, in the end… what does it really mean to be authentic?
It made me think about my own relationship with social media.
I still love beautiful images. But today, they’re no longer enough for me. I need genuine connections, meaningful conversations, and to feel the person behind the image.
And as a woman over 50, I also wonder: what image are we supposed to show?
To look natural, do we have to look tired?
Can we be radiant and feminine, enjoy looking beautiful and presenting ourselves at our best… while still being deeply authentic?
I think we can.
Because I don’t want to have to choose between being radiant and being real.
Maybe authenticity, in the end, isn’t about showing everything, nor is it about giving up on beautiful images.
It’s about being able to enhance the image… without erasing the person behind it.
And you… in a world where even what looks natural can be manufactured…
what does being authentic mean to you?
